Creation Sunday: July 31 at 9:45am

One of the values at the heart of Craigville is a commitment to taking care of our corner of God’s creation, which teams with life and overflows with beauty. As we gather for worship this Sunday, we will thank God for these blessings, revel in the ways in which creation reflects the glory of our Creator, and recommit ourselves to taking care of the gifts of the natural world.

I’m excited to welcome our preacher, Jim Robinson, a colleague of mine in the theology graduate program at Fordham University. Jim’s primary research interests rest at the intersection of ecological theology, mysticism and contemplation, and religious pluralism. He will preach a sermon titled “The Word in the Mustard Seed: A Meditation.”

Rev. Joanne Hartunian will preside. Elton Kam and Cheryl Cochran will provide special music, and Rev. Dr. Dianne Carpenter will accompany us on the organ as we sing together.

Our readings will include: John 1:1-5, Matthew 13:31-32

Our congregational hymns will include: UMH 145-Morning Has Broken (Music | Recording), UMH 92-For the Beauty of the Earth (Music | Recording)
