In the early years of the church, worship often took place during community meals. The disciples broke bread, shared prayers of joy and concern, and sang hymns around a common table. Over the past decade, a number of churches throughout the country have sought to restore this ancient form of worship. Some well-known dinner church communities in the Northeast include St. Lydia’s in Brooklyn, NY, Table on the Green in New Haven, CT, and Simple Church in Grafton, MA.
On Thursday, August 18 at 6pm, we will gather in the Tabernacle for a dinner church service with communion. Dinner will be provided. We will enjoy a meal, join in prayer and song, and celebrate communion led by Rev. Dr. Bill McKinney. People of all ages and faith backgrounds are welcome.
