In the early years of the church, worship often took place during community meals. The disciples broke bread, shared prayers of joy and concern, and sang hymns around a common table. In recent years, people of faith throughout the country have sought to restore this ancient form of worship. Some active dinner church communities in the Northeast include St. Lydia’s in Brooklyn, NY, Table on the Green in New Haven, CT, and Simple Church in Grafton, MA.
On Friday, August 4 at 6pm, we will gather in the Tabernacle for a dinner church service with communion. In the spirit of potluck, bring a simple vegetarian dish to share. Also, bring a friend!
