One of the values at the heart of our community is a commitment to taking care of our corner of God’s creation, which teems with life and overflows with beauty. As we gather for worship this Sunday, we will thank God for these blessings, revel in the ways in which creation reflects the glory of our Creator, and recommit ourselves to taking care of the gifts of the natural world.
Our Theologian in Residence, Edward Dunar, will make his Tabernacle preaching debut with a sermon about the visions of paradise in Isaiah 11:6-9 and the recognition that creation is “groaning with labor pains” in Romans 8:22-25. Ginny Henderson will accompany us on the organ as we sing favorite hymns such as “Morning Has Broken,” “For the Beauty of the Earth,” and “This is My Song.”
At the end of the service, we will join together in a special blessing for our place of grace by the sea. Bring a piece of nature with you to add to a Table of Creation. You might bring a seashell, a stone, a flower, or a pine cone—anything that reminds you of God’s creation in this place.
We hope to see you there!
